VIEW BEYOND THE PEW

My favorite quote in ministry came sunday from one of our church members. His first name is the same as a really cool preacher who writes an article called VIEW BEYOND THE PEW. Anyway, following one of the services, he looked at me and said, "if I was new here, I would think that you were crazy, and i love it!" I told him that he had been new here recently, and he was not only now saved, but an active member of LCC, so obviously, I didn't scare him away and God must like a little "crazy from the pastor" once in a while.

It was just that kind of sunday. Attendance was one of the lowest of the year in the 280's and somewhere, somehow we lost 60+ people from the week before, but the spirit in the place was really great. Thanks to everyone for being willing to get "fired up" about the things we know as truth. I had just come off of two weeks out of the pulpit and a couple retreats along with a family vacation so I was "off the charts". It was great to be fresh and rested. From the looks on your faces and the nods of agreement, I think we hit the mark with this new series entitled: "Biggie Sized Faith". If you didn't make it last Sunday, make sure to catch sermon #2 on Sunday, I think it will be the most encouraging one of the entire series. There were a few struggles with technology, tardy teachers and long-winded preachers on Sunday, it was just one of those days. LJ did a fantastic job on a really tough subject and everyone responded very positively. PTL we had our second week of $6000+ offerings. Finally, several of us went to Mt. Healthy Christian Home to do a service for the residents. It was so nice to share with our former minister RW Baynes as well as to share time with those awesome men and women of faith, not to mention the piano led HYMNS were a special treat. It was just one of those days. About the only normal thing on Sunday was that THE BENGALS LOST!

B Out!!
